    1. I love your blog! I’m slow in posting and getting back on plan. We think we narrowed down what is wrong with my husband, so I may be able to lower my carbs more without causing him severe bouts of pain. It’s been a struggle but I’m so thrilled we may have finally figured it out (it’s been a year of what the doctor said was IBS, which was mostly triggered by high fat foods but we think it was an ulcer this entire time). He’s almost 100% so I’ve been slowly lowering our carbs and he’s been doing great!

    1. Thank you! It sure has been a struggle!

  3. Inspiring! Thank u for the ‘original’ Atkins diet info.

    1. Thank you. It turns out I’ve made even more, though I’m not sure it will show up in pictures. When I first started, there was this linen vest that I loved but was a little too tight. Now? It’s so big I’ll have to alter it or get rid of it (I was cleaning out a drawer yesterday and stumbled onto it).

  4. I am so jealous of your success! You look great! I did the traditional Atkins about 6 years ago and lost 55 lbs. I then got pregnant and ate everythig that wasn’t nailed down! Sugar is my nemesis! I’m trying your egg fast plan first! Day one today. Thank you for the inspiration

    1. I wish you success this time around. Just remember to be kind to yourself. If you eat wrong for a day (or a week), you can always start again. Each day (or hour or minute) can be a new beginning.

  5. Hi Brenda, enjoying your blog. Love your honesty. Good to hear your husband’s health issues are coming under control. Wishing you well with lowering the carbs now that is out of the way.

    1. Thank you! This past week we got the all clear! It’s sure been a journey this year.

  6. I really like your pictures. Keep on updating them ,you look awesome. Well 2 years ago I reached my goal and went from a size 16 to a size 2-4. I started eating carbs again and have shot up 50 pounds and back up to a size 12. My question is how to restart Atkins/keto again. I have tried so many times and can’t seem to make it past 3 days. (20 or more times) Also I am in my 50s and my height is 4ft 11in. Any help or feed back surely would be appreciated

  7. Wow! I love that retro vibe and the red hair on you. Now, that’s a Jessica Rabbit Moment.
    Good job!

    1. Thank you! I do love pretending to be a girl about once a year. 🙂

  8. Thanks for making the effort to share your story and to provide all this additional information. Today is day 1 of induction doing it the way Dr. Atkins intended for it to be in 1972. I don’t see how, with the revisions as shown on today’s current website, anyone would find success. So again, thank you for making this information available.
